Robotic Assembly Line Class Challenge

Class Solution:

Overview of Challenge: The objective of this challenge was to create a functioning assembly line that would simulate dice stampers. We want six dice to be stamped on every side and to be transferred from the beginning to the end then be properly packaged.

Our Team's Solution:

Our Approach: The approach we took was we first wanted to see if anyone else had created a good functioning conveyor belt online who used the fischertechnik kits. We found a couple good examples and started building. We made a super strong frame for consistency so nothing would easily break or malfunction. We then used pneumatics for our stamper again for consistency. After that we just had a lot of trial and error until the timing was correct.

Total Number of Achievements:
As a class, a team, and as an individual I acquired 13 achievements.

Breakout of Achievements:
As a class:
  1. "Implementation"
  2. "Stewardship"
As a team:
  1. "If you Build It..."
  2. "Proof is in the Pudding"
  3. "Round and Round We Go" - The first challenge we discovered was getting the the conveyor belt to rotate properly. The way we solved this was by implementing the use of gear reduction rather than rotating rubber bands.
  4. Round and Round We Go... Again" - The second challenge we discovered was getting our pneumatics to work properly and at the correct time. The way we fixed this was by trial and error and figured out which way each valve should go.
  5. "Leave no Trace"
  6. "Lab Rat"

As an individual:
  1.  "Share It" - Some feedback I provided was for Jackson's team and the idea we had was the put another conveyor belt above theirs that span in the opposite direction to restrict the the rolling back of cubes.
  2. "Keep the Customer in Mind"
  3. "Nice One!" - Someone who helped us a lot was Cody and the way he helped us was by showing some tricks to ensure that the pneumatics worked properly.
  4. "Helping Hand" - Someone that we helped was John-Henry and the way we helped him was by showing him how to get his stamper to function more consistently by simply making his programming more simple.
  5. "And the Winners Are..."
